Overview
Our Committment  begins with our top notch personnel. We hire and refer only the best. All courses and examination results are analyzed to ensure that weak points are addressed in subsequent interations of a course. Note that in class instruction is limited to the Toronto area. Drop us an email for more information.

Our Drive  to develop new sources of revenue and products for our clients. We are currently designing a "Build Your Own" course capability. For a flat fee you get to choose from a limited catalogue of themed hourly modules, those you want taught, generally as a coherent whole. More on this as it developes.

Our Curiosity  has lead us to include a variety of pages on this site. The backbone is the learning material and code examples. These are presented in useful formats such as the course quizes, games, order forms, loan applications, and a host of other interesting and informative displays.

Our Lack of Funds  has not prevented us from putting up a top notch internet site. You too can achieve similar results. You do not need to be a big or even medium sized company. Many hosts including those offering free hosting, provide site templates. You can have a professional looking site up and running in 30 minutes or less. By the way, on the web all viewable source code is free but pictures and art work are usually covered by copyright.

Our History
Beginning with an idea in October of 1999, efforts were directed at learning all we could about the most cost effective ways to implement web sites. We had no money, little time and no experience.

(1) The first step was to see what others were doing on and using the net for. This involved a lot of surfing. Generally we were most impressed with the various MS and MSDN presentations. In the business world many applications are modelled on MS products to reduce user learning curves. We felt a similar approach would aid us on the web. As none of us are artists simplicity and clarity of presentation were what we wanted.

(2) Next we had to settle on a set of designs for our pages which were consistent, easy to navigate and light on the phone connection. You will observe the virtual absence of flash and other gimicks that slow page transmission and display. Also it is difficult to read anything with ads constantly flickering and changing colours and so on.

(3) We wanted our content to be useful to our targeted audience and available to them should they wish to flatter us and copy it.

(4) Then began the learning process. Concentrating on HTML and gradually introducing more and more Javascript. The latter served as a no cost alternative to server side includes which our free host did not provide. We got a lot of code and ideas from the various web libraries all of which we provide links to on our learning and training pages.

(5) Once we had the site up we started to experiment with Javascript and Perl. We had no database and could not afford to buy one. Even if we could our free host did not offer that service. So we developed a flat file database using Perl, similar to Basic random access files. With solid backgrounds in QuickBasic and Visual Basic learning another language was not a problem though Perl is a bit peculiar. After 3 years we have settled on this site as the base for all future work. Two earlier sites have been deleted, three others will soon follow. The best from them are and will be freshened up and relocated here.

(6) After years of enduring popup ads on Tripod we opted to go with their Plus Hosting package. It was inexpensive and a good deal given our experience. After many years with them we felt comfortable with the features and services available. One reason we took this step now was the improved response times especially regarding the CGI-BIN.
